The apartment’s dining room offered the best views and natural light, but its owners rarely capitalized on this due to the layout of the apartment. Instead, most of their time was spent in the kitchen and living room. In refining the layout of the apartment, we decided the kitchen and dining room would be better served by trading spaces. 

With the dining room acting now as a multifunctional area between the living room and kitchen, all spaces can be appreciated and are filled with natural daylight. 

In addition to switching the location of the kitchen and dining room, we laid the wood flooring out at a diagonal to mimic the foot traffic throughout the day. The path also aligns with the corner of the exterior balcony and provides a sense of connection and movement throughout the apartment.
